We took a guided tour (in Chinese) to Huang Long and Jiuzhaigou. It starts at crack of dawn in Chengdu and buses through the canyon which was at the epicenter of the 2008 quake. Entire villages and miles and miles of roadway were wiped out, and the river was changed forever. Huang Long means Yellow Dragon and is the site of several cascading waterfalls, made yellow and other colors by minerals in the earth. Jiuzhaigou is covered in another gallery.
