Chengdu is a western city, near the mountains, but on a large fertile plain. It reminds me a lot of Denver, though it does not get as much sunny weather, nor does it get much snow. It is a very large, very modern, and easy to get around, and quite easy to get around and easy to go places nearby by bus or train. The big tourist highlight is the Giant Panda Research Base - loved it! Lots else to see, and very much a city I could live in.
