November 08: Bangkok, Kanchanaburi and the Bridge on the River Kwai
Between dive trips I spent a few days in Bangkok and took a day long train excursion with my friend Yong. For literally a couple $$, we rode the national railway on a site seeing trip to Kanchanaburi and the famous Death Railroad. During WWII, the Japanese used prisoners to build an important train link across Thailand and Burma to connect the gulf of Thailand with the Indian Ocean. Many allied soldiers, sailors and pilots died over several years.
